About Me

When I was a little girl, I wanted to be a writer. When my friends were outside playing, I had my nose in a book or a pencil to paper. I loved reading, and the words on the pages spoke to my heart and soul. The characters became as real to me as family, and I devoured chapter after chapter of my favorite novels. I fantasized about becoming an author and wrote short stories about ghosts, mysteries, and adventures.

As I got older, I decided to pursue a career in newspaper writing. It just made sense to earn a living doing what I love. I graduated from The University of Georgia with a degree in Journalism, and I was ready to write with passion and purpose.

However, a series of events occurred that curtailed my plans. Not all of it was bad. I got married, had children, and switched careers to one with more regular hours and better pay. I’ve had an amazing life so far filled with family, friends, and blessings. But there’s always been a part of me that has longed to be a writer, and that’s where this blog comes in.

Ring in the Love.com is a place where I can share my thoughts, ideas, and faith. It’s a place where I can share stories about incredible people and places.  It’s a place where I can share the lessons I’ve learned and the challenges I face. It’s a place where I can write.

The name “Ring in the Love” has special meaning to me because it is part of a daily exchange that I share with my children and husband. Our last name is Ring. So, when my sons were much younger, I came up with a phrase to say each morning as we parted ways to school and work. I would say, “Ring in the love” as someone was leaving, and they replied with, “From Heaven Above,” It’s a prayer, a sweet farewell, and a tradition that we still do today. I chose it
as the name of my blog because it encompasses so much of what I want to convey here – stories of love, faith, and family.
